Glenn Roberts Electrical is a specialist electrical servicing and contracting company to Nelson’s commercial and residential market. We have extensive experience in all types and sizes of projects, specialising in architecturally designed homes and commercial buildings. The scope of operations undertaken includes small repairs and servicing; commercial fit-outs and new builds; residential renovations, rewires and new builds; landscape lighting; data and automation.

Josh Roberts – Company Director
Josh is a fully qualified electrician with over 22 years experience gained both in New Zealand and the UK. Most of this time has been spent in the commercial and residential sectors. Josh is responsible for the day to day running of the business and the project management, seeing this as a key path to success of any project no matter how large or small. Josh has worked on many small and large electrical projects throughout his career both in hands on roles and in management roles in NZ and in the UK.
Colin White – Operations Manager and Solar PV Manager
Colin White, an experienced electrician with great people and leadership skills heads up our Service team and ensures the smooth running of this busy part of the business by working closely with the service team, our customers and suppliers. Colin also manages our Solar PV division – Solar Smart Energy, providing customers with specific Solar PV system designs for their individual needs through to managing the installation process.
Jon Taylor – QS and Project Manager
Jon has had a variety of roles in his 20 plus years’ experience of the electrical industry. Project managing government contracts in Wellington for both electrical and data aspects that involved a high sense of security and trust. Running a successful electrical business in the Waikato for over 8 years before moving to Nelson with his family in 2014. Jon has a dynamic skill set that he applies to the Quantity Surveying and Project Management parts of our business. A proven problem solver that prides himself on developing a solution.
Gareth Hammon – Estimator
Gareth has over 30 years’ experience in the commercial, light industrial and domestic areas of the electrical field. He Immigrated to NZ from Somerset UK in 2003 where he has worked all over the South Island before settling with his family in the Nelson/Tasman region. With his great personal skills and being able to communicate with clients. His role finds him quoting all facets of the electrical industry and providing support to the operations manager to ensure smooth running of the day to day businesses.
Glenn Roberts – IQP and Fire Alarm Design
Glenn is a fully qualified electrician with over 30 years management experience on a wide range of projects throughout the region. Glenn handles all our Fire Alarm work from the system design through to project management of the installation and IQP Inspections.
Electricians
We have a team of qualified NZ registered electricians with an extensive range of knowledge in the electrical industry of New Zealand and abroad, including the UK and Europe. Each has successfully run and managed a wide range of projects for us. Our team of Electricians include an Electrical Inspector; IQP Qualified Electrician and Lift Service Technician enabling us to offer our customers a wide range of services.
Apprentices
At present we have 4 Apprentices on our team all at various stages of their Apprenticeship working towards their electrical qualification. One of which, Thomas Goode, recently came 4th in the country for the Master Electricians’ New Zealand Apprentice of the Year 2018 Competition.
Office Administration
Nichola, Sandy and Rebecca ensure the smooth and efficient running of the office and accounts.
